london 2007

so here we are at our london hotel, the luna simone. sabz and gen got the normal sized twin beds...

... and i got some jacked up cot that was as wide as the length of my arm. i feared rolling off the bed all three nights we spent there.

us eating at an italian restaurant on the first night there... mostly cuz it was close by and still open.

we strolled by buckingham palace... i took this time lapse shot and realized there was a dude in the picture taking a similar shot. good thing he didn't move cuz it made for a sweet shot for me :)

ano? mayron tindahan pilipino sa london?... i guess so! too bad i didn't go in. i wonder what their food tastes like.

me sitting atop a double decker tour bus exposed to the elements... everyone got the covered seats!

in the little black cab en route to the london eye. it was suggested that we pre-purchased our tickets for the eye at the same time we book our trip, so we did. you get to pass the lines and basically walk right into the pod. however, a gloomy london day does the exact same thing! we had maybe a dozen to 20 people in our pod, but it holds up to 40 or 50. it was quite spacious and very enjoyable. they say you can see 40km around on a sunny clear day. but you can see the major london sights pretty well on a cloudy, drizzly day too.

i know it says to NOT lean against the doors... but i DID! (just for a split second, tho! that thing is SO high up!).

even homer got scared.

135 meters up. aaahhhhhh!

the view from the eye...

big ben/saint stephens clock

county hall

pods

photos of westminster abbey

yummy... lol!

ummm i mean, THIS was yummy. enjoy the sandwich shops in london... it's about all i could afford!

trafalgar square

ugh... pigeons.

the hop-on hop-off buses were a great way to get around. we took it for the first day and a half cuz we'd be seeing the sights anyways and the bus would get us there... if only it would stop raining!

hyde park gate

30 saint mary axe a.k.a. the gherkin

the tower of london

yes, it was a bit windy.

ridiculously hot water at a hotel washroom.

much like our grizzlies and orcas, london has guitar monuments all over the place.

on a ferry on the thames... inclusive of our hop-on hop-off bus pass.

i gotta hit up the tate museum next time i'm in london.

the eye from the thames

the view from our hotel window... hey is that sun?!

so the last full day we were there, we were lucky enough to see the sun!... it lasted for a minimal amount of time... but we managed to catch the changing of the guards.
and THIS guy looked just like a greasy papper!!

and there are the guards.

wait a sec...

those guys are radio controlled!!

oh harrods! how i wish i were ballin!... this place made me feel so poor. there really were middle-eastern royalty shopping all over the place. and ferraris, and lambos and even a corvette. an american car in london? madness. that's why we hit up the confectionery... i bought delicious chocolates.
mmmm goodies. too bad it's all marzipan... bleah!!

walking around and being silly...

this was actually laid into the concrete. haters!

fun in kensington park

it was getting gloomier as we got to portobello road and nottinghill

on the regular public transit bus. and gen just can't get enough sleep!

so this concludes the london leg of our trip. isn't rain just great?

and it begins... again...

so i'm going to greece (and more) this summer. good times to be had, you can count on it. but it seems that whenever i decide to do something fabulous, something that ups the coolness factor of vancouver happens...

so the first thing that i'll be sadly missing in vancouver is ne-yo coming in concert on august 12.

HOWEVER i am SO happy that i got to see him in seattle in june. he is an amazing performer. if you get the chance, watch him. you won't be disappointed. his show was short-ish but it was jam packed. plus he sang a prince song! that did it for me. so the crowd was a little too young to even know that he was singing a cover (he even suggested "all of you under the age of 25, that's prince. you should check him out.") but he did it really well.
i watched the show with 2 of my homeboys... and we had a great time. dancing alone, with each other, or with some white girls who really really tried to dance on beat. i'm not hating, they knew dancing with us would help them out ;o) i think we were very entertaining for the tech crew too. and then of course, there was the rick ross sighting. yeah i'll just say that i DID see him standing behind us... tho i'm pretty sure that guy just looked like rick ross.
good times, guys.
