I am taking CPSC 1100 at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Creating a blog is a part of today's activities.
I have to say that this class is pretty fun. It's a relaxing change from my econ and marketing classes. Oh, the things I do to get a decent paycheque. I know I'm pretty good at fiddling around with a computer, but this is a great class... I love watching the other people in this class NOT follow instructions. A lot are fresh from high school, thinking this will be an easy class so they chat or write email or do whatever as the lesson goes on. Then they're the ones stuck here til 7pm trying to do a simple assignment. This one took me no time at all to do, and yet there are peeps who still can't authenticate their blog. I'd help, but I believe that 18 year olds need to learn this stuff by problem solving. After all, that's how I learned. When they get to be my age, they can have the opportunity to be a computer snob like me.
Hahahahahah

All this cuteness surrounded me in the quest to find a new happy milk carton keychain. So I did the most obvious thing: a mini photo shoot!

I did encounter some focus issues but for the most part, I think the cute factor shines through. I'm always working on my mad iPhone photography skills.

Walking to dance rehearsal today, I saw two little dogs sunning on the red welcome mat of a men's beauty products store (I can't think of how else to describe the store). Both the dogs and the store were highly entertaining.

Walking to the train home from church, I saw these kids playing on this huge bull statue on the corner of Georgia and Homer streets. If grown ups were doing the same thing, I bet it wouldn't be as cute, and we may get arrested.

Seriously. These cupcakes were ridiculously cute. For all you cupcakers out there, the babies tasted like marshmallows. If real babies tasted like that, there would be a new meaning to "I could just eat you right up!"

One of the perks of working at a small elementary school is that the kids never forget to share their birthday desserts with the teachers, even if they aren't in your class!

03.28.11 starbucks coffee cups

Just to add to my growing collection of paper cup photos. It was just a matter of time before I had the double tailed mermaid as a subject. I thought since we ordered "grande" sized cups, it'd be cute to put the "miniaturizing" effect on them. It worked out ok. Also, the espresso hot chocolate drink they have still tastes more like hot chocolate. Just sayin :)

oh my aching legs

Tinikling is the best filipino folk dance ever.  It showcases poise and grace, and at the same time mad jumping skills.  And it also makes you feel your age.  As my artistic director says "it's for the 30 and under dancers"... umm so why am I still dancing it?! :) 
I hope that of the many children I am teaching it to, at least ONE of them loves it so much that they will want to take my place as Tinikling Queen (or King).  That is my goal.  For now, I need some ibuprofen.

This is basically a continuation of valentine's day hilarity. It's a collection of hearts with messages.

Who'd really want to be "CRAZY"? Is "HARD LUCK" a bad or good thing? "GOOD PALS" is NOT a good thing on valentine's day.
"BITE ME" was on a valentine's day card.
"LOL" I was told can also mean "lots of love". That's fine. But what if you interpreted it as laugh out loud"?

Ok. The commentary:

SO FUN. I already made a gangload from my iPhone and saved the images to my camera roll. Super easy. I'm working on a creative way to send valentines. By working I mean PROCRASTINATING.

TIP:
The hearts only has space for 4 letters/numbers/select symbols for each of the 2 lines. So 8 characters in all. Get creative. Lose a lot of vowels.

07.02.11 they come in CHOCOLATE?!

I like this candy because it's the American version of Rockets. They have a different name (which is also one of my favourite chocolates) and it's like 4 times the size of Rockets (I call that "American size").

And NOW I find they come in chocolate flavour. Smarties are chocolate flavour. Haha to a Canadian, that's a totally dumb remark, but to an American, it's perfectly normal. Hahaha... Too... Many... Jokes...
