so i'm done with the chillin'... i'm wondering tho: what is the origin of rap? i was tutoring a student last night and he asked me this. he also asked me a bunch of questions about mtv and how it was received by the black americans... i think mtv didn't want to show any black artists on it when it first started or something. i know the program "YO! mtv raps" debut was in august 1988... but was michael jackson really the first black artist to be aired on mtv? hmmm.. something to think about on my way to the concert...
